As the end of my reign as Queen has passed, I think back to the wonderful year that I had. It started off with a beautiful crowning ceremony at the Commonwealth Club, then I got to hob-knob with Lord Ailsa and rock out with Tartanic at the Highland Games. After that was The Lads and Lassies Golf Outing (honoring Ron and Helen Brisson), there were the parades and festivals, and the formal events such as the St. Andrew’s Dinner and Burn’s Night. And on top of all of that, I became a member of the St. Andrew’s Society AND became a licensed hairdresser all during my reign! What an accomplishment! Every event that I’ve been to has just been so wonderful. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved. Sarah Kaminski: You were an excellent court member! I had so much fun with you at the Highland Games. Thank you so much for being a good friend. This year wouldn’t have been as exciting with out you. Scott David: Thank you SO much for allowing me to present the Ramsay Iris at all the monthly meetings and give my little announcements. That really meant a lot to me and I hope I was able to brighten up people homes with new, beautiful flowers. Mary David: Thank you for everything you have done as well that contributed to my great year. Andi Powell and April Fuzi: Thank you guys for giving me a good start to what was a magnificent year. Bree and Sheila Brownlee: Thank you both so much for making the end of my reign really special. You ladies are excellent program directors and I know that under your guidance and direction that the incoming Queen is in for a very fun and very exciting year. Mom and Dad: Well Queen Mum and Pops, I owe you guys a HUGE thank you. Mom, thank you so much for making this year as amazing as it was. I wouldn’t have known what to do, how to fix my crown to the top of my head, or how to act queenly if it wasn’t for the guidance of a former [homecoming] queen. You helped me with all my little “do-dads” and presents that I gave away and I couldn’t have done it without you. Dad, thank you for arranging for me to ride in the ‘Stang at the Romeo Peach Festival and supporting me throughout this whole year. And to the entire St. Andrew’s Society: Thank you for making me your Queen. This year has been so wonderful and one that I’ll never forget. Thank you all for all the fun, laughter, and good times that we were able to share together. I hope that whenever any of you see an iris, or any piece of thriving foliage that you’ll think of me, the “Green” Queen. Once again, thank you and I love you all.
