Our 2010 Queen of the Highlands Madeline (Maddie) Knapp is from Rochester, MI where she is a senior at Stoney Creek High School. Madeline is Student Council class president, president of the National Honor Society and was elected secretary of the State Board of Student Councils & Honor Societies. Madeline plans to attend Michigan State University to study nursing or education. She teaches Sunday school at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, is a Challenge Day leader, delivers Meals on Wheels twice a month and volunteers as a patient aide at Beaumont Hospital.  

Our 1st Runner-Up, Holly Manciero, from Harrison Township, MI is a senior at L’Anse Creuse High School and plans to study International Relations and Affairs at Michigan State University in the fall. In the fall of 2011, she’ll be interning at the United Nations. Holly was selected as one of only 11 people for the state of Michigan to be on the 2009-2010 Student Board of Delegates, is the treasurer for her school’s National Honor Society, plays softball and actively works on the Go Green campaign. Holly volunteers with Relay for Life, Easter Seals and the Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan.

Our 2nd Runner-Up is Geneva Ruppert of Okemos, MI. Geneva is a senior at Okemos High School. She plans to double major in International Studies and History and minor in music at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts in the fall. She is a member and performer in the Riverwalk Community Theater and the Green Room Vocal Studio and volunteers at the Beekman Therapeutic Riding Center. At Okemos High School she is a member of the National Honor Society, an active member of the choirs, Equestrian Team, German Language Club, Drama Club, is a LINK Leader and spent a summer studying abroad.
