Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of your lesson so
you can put on your shoes and be ready to dance at the beginning
of lesson time. Do not wait for the teacher to tell you to get
ready and begin stretching.
This should be done
silently as to not disturb the lesson going on before you. |
 |
Proper dance attire and shoes are required for every
lesson. These include: leotard, tights, tight fitting t-shirt or tank
top, or bicycle shorts. Highland ghillies or ballet shoes must be worn.
Hair must be up and off the face and no jewelry. |
 |
Please treat others in the way you wish to be treated.
Rivalries within the studio or other studios will not be tolerated. |
 |
If you
are not going to attend a lesson or are going to be late, call the
studio to notify the teachers so they are not waiting for you. If you do
not call ahead, you will be charged for the lesson. We get worried about
you if we don't know where you are! |
 |
After learning a dance, you are expected to practice it
on your own so that it can be reviewed, not re-taught at a later lesson. |
 |
No food
or drink except water is allowed during lessons (medical exceptions are allowed).
A water
bottle is suggested - please bring it with you and take it home again
with every lesson. |
 |
The studio door will remain
closed during all lessons. Parents and siblings can wait in the waiting
area during lessons. |
 |
It is expected that notes will be taken during class on
what to work on during home practice time. Practice at home is essential
to improvement. Improvement must be seen at each lesson in order
to move on to new material. |
 |
Workshops are wonderful to attend and we encourage
everyone to attend - but please make sure that they are approved by Mrs.
Brownlee or Bree prior to attending. There are rules that we have to
follow with attending a workshop and competitions...so to be on the safe
side, check with us first! |
 |
Show respect to others including instructors and
classmates at lessons and fellow dancers, teachers, parents, volunteers,
pipers and judges at competitions, and other studio events. Always
remember, you are not only representing yourself, but your entire
studio. |
 |
Acquire a good relationship between dancer and teacher
and dancer and parents! |
 |
Costumes are a large part of a dancers
success. If you do not look presentable, you may be overlooked at
competitions. For this reason, costumes must be approved by the
instructor prior to purchase. |
 |
If you are having problems in class or at
competitions, please let us know. We are here for you! |
 |
Have fun!! |
